A whole month

Wow a whole month since I posted anything.  I am so ashamed.  But I have been having a ball and living life.  Let's see I turned 42, so that means I know everything and am the meaning of life and everything. See here for the question that 42 answers.  What's really odd about that is long, LOOONNNGGG before I knew of this quote, I had been answering 42 and half to almost every question I was asked.

Here's what 42 candles on a cake looks like...
42 Candles

We have this odd (hum, that's an odd typo), I mean old tradition of putting all the candles on a cake for a person's birthday.  Soon mine will require the fire department come and standby for the lighting and extinguishing.  As soon as I am as old as my mother.  She threatens us each year on her birthday, "Don't you DARE put all those candles on my cake."  And we do, then she mutters, then she blows.  I think next year I'll start a tradition of hollering 'thar she blows' when she blows out her candles.

I have a kid almost engaged, staring down marriage. I don't think of her as engaged, as much as getting the legal bits of things wrapped up.  It's like she and the other half, are exactly that.  Two halves of a whole, and have been for years and years and years.  They just had to live enough life to finally out they are each other halves.  That's not true, they had to live long enough, and experience enough to know in their hearts they truly are the other half of each other.

Once the kid is married and moved out, that means this guy will go with her, well both these guys.
Moose happy to have Spud back
I can make another Spud, but I'm gonna miss not having that blond whirlwind running a muck in my house every day.  There's Skype, and phones, and laptops with cameras.  Wow we live in such a different world than even 10 years ago. I'm grateful to live in this day and age.

I am staring down the 25th wedding anniversary.  And I'm not going to even go there.  Nope, not gonna.  I thought I could, but I can't.  It will come and go, as this spring and summer have, and fall and winter will.

I love my animals, but I could really live without them sharing all their spent fur with me, my clothes, my furniture, the floor, the ceiling and all in betwixt.  I think if I kept all this fur, I could spin enough yarn each week to make a small puppy or kitten.  I won't, but I bet I could.

Oh, and I got three blue ribbons in the county fair. One for the Cat bag, one for Oink, and one for Spud.  Spud, pictured above, was very happy to be home in the loving arms of his boy.  Who you can see promptly took him for a roll in the grass.  Pics on Flickr if you are wanting to look.

And now off to read a bedtime story.  Soon I shall be replaced, so I don't want to miss a night.  Well, guess not, he's asleep.  I am assured that I will not be replaced though, that I'll Skype instead.  That has an almost menacing sound to it though, doesn't it?
