2014 Another New Beginning

Time is so liquid the older I get.  In the last couple of weeks I find my mind wandering to what my grandparents and parents may have thought and felt when they were my age.  What their lives were like and how they felt about times passage and the future.  It is getting almost surreal how the day, week, month, years are passing.  I never can find enough time, and I'm not always convinced I'm spending it in a way that I'll be satisfied with when I look back.

We lost Scrappy unexpectedly on September 15.  It still stings. I've almost posted a photo of her here, but I'm looking forward.  I don't want to have my heart pricked again each time I look at this post.  I'm just not done grieving yet.

HOWEVER, Buster has adjusted quite well.  Our neighbor had her daughters dogs for a while.  He had them to argue with though the fence, but they found new homes.  Buster had to figure out what he likes and what kind of dog he is.  He's not the other dog anymore, he's the only dog, so it's been a transformation for him.  He's much more mellow and he loves Frisbee.  It has been great watching him come into his own.  He's getting quite skilled at catching it mid-air.  Although I've not been able to get an action shot of it yet.

Grandbabies are growing big, I got the other Sock Monkey blankets done.  Love them! What's better is the babies love them.

Another sweater, for Diesel.

I didn't like this one as much as Gramps, and there are several modifications I would make if I did it again.

My best friend got married after a long engagement in September.  I'm so very happy for her.
Congrats!  9/21/13  (all odd #s, because she's weird like that)

Kristen, Devon, Vincent, all came home for Halloween, and we had a good time.  Got a nice family pic with Hackenslash, sans the son-in-laws.

Thanksgiving came and we ate well.
Christmas, oy-vey.  Only 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas had me running like a madman.  We got things done, shipped, and settled in for the holiday.  Went to Christmas Village on Christmas Eve as tradition dictates.

Then on New Years, we went to bed around 8pm.  I'm pretty sure I was asleep by 9:30.  What new adventures will we have this coming year?  Can't wait to find out.
