At the amusement park
Went to Lagoon amusement park this past weekend. As a family we all really enjoy it there. I can be laconic in the midst of the kerfuffle. ;o)
There are 2 mute swans nesting there. I found out they are really out of their range here in Utah, and I am trying to find out how they ended up in an amusement park here. They have been there for years, and usually have a couple of cygnets each year. I have no idea where those babies go after they are raised. But it has been interesting to watch them raise them each year to adulthood. The swans are on the pond in the middle of the park, and kept away from guests. They can be quite agressive from what I understand.
This year they built their nest where it can be seen by the public. It is huge, I'd say 5' to 6' across. When I was taking photos of the nest, on was turning the eggs. They are about the size of softballs, and the swan off the nest was giving me the evil eye.
